LAST EDITED ON Oct-05-15 AT 09:20PM (MST)[p]The brake is a little for both. This rifle will be about 75% for steel shooting and practice, so I wanted recoil to be almost nothing so that A) I could call my own shots/impacts and B) so my wife could shoot it a lot without developing any bad recoil habits. The other 25% of the time I plan on hunting with it. It'll depend on the type of hunt as I won't take it on hunts where it's weight will be an issue. The complete gun loaded will probably weigh 14ish lbs.
I can't wait to shoot it! I have brass, bullets, powder, and primers so far. I'm waiting on my dies to come in the mail tomorrow or wed. My scope (SWFA 5-20x50 SS FFP) is coming in the mail tomorrow and I'll take it to mount the scope on wed when my smith gets my rings in.
