New Mexico Auodad

I have Aoudad on the list of things I would like to do. I want to go somewhere thats really rough, rocky country that looks like true sheep country. Ive heard that you can buy over the counter tags in NM and hunt them on public land. Has anybody done this or know anybody that has? I hear that there are some on Kiowa Grasslands along the Canadian River but don't know how many. Anybody have any info on a free range hunt? I may even being willing to do some swaping of hunts for the right hunt.
