New Tactics for Wolves

Well we hadn't been seeing a whole lot of deer moving, so we found a likely spot and decided to rattle a little bit. We had only been there about two minutes and I had just finished banging the horns together when my buddy says, "Hey, there's a wolf coming in!!!" He had popped out of the trees with his head perked up looking for the bucks that were fighting. I had a muzzy while my buddy had a .30 cal; he didn't have a tag so he threw me his gun. By now the wolf was moving up through the timber, but still didn't know we were around. I had one opening in the trees and got a quick shot off, but no blood...DAMNIT!!!! He was a nice size and had a great coat, would have looked a lot better on my floor than in the hills!

I found out this weekend a rifle shot does the same thing..... at least triggered them howling... nothing came in to predator call though.....
