Nikon Fieldscope III

I have been looking at purchasing a spotting scope and the Nikon Fieldscope III really grabs my attention. Does anyone out there have any experience with this model. I am looking at the 60mm unit. Is the ED version worth the extra $$. I do not plan on taking pictures with it right now but maybe someday in the future. Any info would be great.

Just got a Spotter XL II out of Amazon.com for $90.00 cheaper than Cabela's. You might try there for your model.

I've had the 60mm Fieldcope III for about a year. IMO it is a great scope for the money I paid. (Bought the kit with Bogen Pistol Grip Tri-pod, case,etc. directly from Nikon for $608) It is not a swaro or leica, but it is a real good scope. I have the 20x-60x eyepiece on mine. I've used side by side with swaro and leica and the Nikon can hold its own to about 40x. Beyond that magnification, it is not as clear the high end glass.
