The late hunt on this unit can be very difficult. It's true most of this unit is private and by that time of the season it seems what elk was on public land has moved onto private because of the rut and hunter pressure from previous hunts. Depending on the weather, access can also be a problem. There were a couple of decent bulls taken last year on this unit during the late hunt. If you are going to hunt this unit make sure you know where the boundaries are for public and private. It can get pretty confusing sometimes. We have hunted this unit for 20 years and it seeems every year a new piece of property is marked private that wasen't marked the year before.
