After 6 days of hard hunting in public land and passing up several bucks I was able to connect Saturday morning with this nice 4 by 4 . He is my biggest buck to date, we taped him out at 171 7/8 .
Whatever, he's no good anyways. I mean who ever heard of somebody shooting 2 little 170 Bucks when you're hunting a trophy unit like the Northern general!!!!
Dude, I am pretty sure that Northern Utah General made it on the list of top 5 North American Mule Deer Units. I think it was ahead of Henry Mts, Utah and behind Sonora Mexico. Just don't let the cat out of the bag.
I got to commend you for killing a huge buck on a general unit. You are probably the first guy on here that I have seen who actually has his hunter orange.
Once again well done!
Actually Tony it wasn't a gut shot, well kinda I hit him right behind the shoulder and because of how he was quartering it came out low. For those who want to know yes ,its public land do it yourself, But you havent seen nothin yet. Im gonna post the bucks and bulls we've taken outa there from the last 3 years, then maybe people will stop back mouthing how bad the Northern untit is. Just need a day or 2 to round up some pics then i'll post em .
What a nice buck, Clint Packer showed me a picture of this buck on Sunday on his cell phone. It doesn't look half as good on the phone as it does in these pics. Great buck man!!

Don't do it!!! There are no good bucks in the Northern region, everybody knows this!! That is why I am most definitely getting, umm I mean not getting the combo tag again next year.....
PS. Me and Derrick are both killing 180 next year, so watch out
