Sadly, that's exactly what we're finding too.

Bro has a tag (central) and he's been out 3x and found birds but they're in people's yards!

He ran into a warden and the only thing he'd say is, "this might not be the year to have a tag".
Not really encouraging.

Since most guys say the rut is somewhat late, I suspect the best is yet to come.
