posting for my buddy. we hunted 5 days early on the south eastern rifle didnt get the big one! 2 days into the regular rifle hunt he recived a emial that stated he could hunt nov 7-8 to help out him only having 1 1/2 legs so he hunted the rest of the hunt holding out for the big boy had no luck. So we headed out early sat morning. We had 2 other buddys down low spotting, we went high. When we got to the canyon you could hardly see but there was deer everywhere 5-10 min up the road i spotted a big guy as he went into some brush, so we went up the road to get a better look but couldn't see him we knew he had hit a little draw that he thought he would be safe in but we knew better we hit a pull out road that you could see the whole draw standing in the bottom 80 yards away was 2 big bucks they started to move into the oakbrush, my buddy got off the wheeler and got a rest, he said "which one" i said the bottom one. As the first one came out of the brush at about 120 yards i told him when he comes out let him stop just stay calm this being the first deer tag he has ever had he is 34 years old and adrenaline was very high to say the least as the big boy came out he stopped and turned to look at us the veiw i had there was brush in the way but could still see him real good i said if you got a clear shot take him. Lightning fast the gun went off he instantley hunched up and started to go i kept on him with my binos and didnt hear my buddy reload i said better get another one in him, he had another shell in faster than you could blink an eye the buck wasn't going very hard about 30 yards from were he hit him he stopped turned around and all four straight up to the sky. The celebration began for him being 34 and this being the first big game animal to go down in front of him we were stoked he got right in there gutted him all the way out i just feel bad for his wife cause he is hooked for life the buck is just shy of 26"
