I know that a resident can guide 2 nonresident hunters per year if he gets the paperwork and gets no compensation. The hunter is required to be "accompanied" by the guide. Anyone know exactly what that means? Side by side in the field? Same camp? Same drainage? Within eyesight? Show you around once and then leave? Just wondering if there was a set rule.

I haven't found any set rule, but I would think that "accompanied by" would mean that the guide would have to be in the immediate area with the hunter. I don't think he would even be allowed to stay in camp and let the hunter go out a ways from there. If something happened and the hunter got lost or hurt and they were found not to be near the hunter to help, I would think they could be charged under that wording.
