Post up the biggest animals you've ever seen, with estimated size. Calibrate your BS filters and let's hear it.

Biggest deer: general unit, about an 8x8 non typical that would probably go 210+. Bounding down the road in front of my car.

Biggest elk: A beautiful specimen that would probably score conservatively 410". He was with 5 or 6 other big bulls and he made them look like deer.

Bonus: I hooked and played with, or rather, he played with me, a HUGE brown trout on the middle provo. I saw him well several times and I'd guess him to be over 30" and as big around as a volleyball. He never even acknowledged that I had him hooked. Just swam around doing his business, and I just went along for the ride. Too bad I had 5x tippet and my 4 weight Winston rod.

Biggest bull i have seen was in Nevada on the ShellCreek Range, solid 420.

Best bucks i have seen were on the Henry's, a handful or two of bucks grossing over 200", also seen some big bucks on some popular northern CWMU's.

I was guiding and killed was 213" buck with a client
(my personal best).
Also guided a bull that would have grossed 400 and some change, had he not broken off about 8-10", still grossed 396".

Great memories there!!!

Biggest deer: So. Utah 10 yrs ago. Polished 2nd week of the bowhunt. Patterned him all fall for the rifle hunt. He switched units 2 days before the hunt opened and was killed by another hunter. 205" gross.

Biggest Elk: Last year on the Wasatch- BIG!

Biggest Racoon: Dead in the middle of Weber Canyon road last week.

Mule deer: Central MT on a property that allowed no mulie hunting...30 wide without his twin cheaters...couldn't guess on a score but BIG!!

Whietail: Same county as the mulie, estimated 20 inches wide again no guess on a score.

Pronghorn: Can't remember????

Elk: in the park 400 inches, in the field...I'd guess 360-370, pretty big for forest service bulls, haven't had the luck to actually tape one that big!

Biggest Muleys

3 210+ Bucks feeding in an orchard on the outskirts of Boulder Colorado. Tree Hugging Dirt Worshiping Capital of the world! There was trash everywhere, looked like three deer with rocking chairs on their heads.

Biggest deer was about 210-215 stright typ 4x4. Had to have been 33-34 inches wide. It was one of those beautiful boxed frame bucks that I just love.

Got my father-in-law a shot at a 390+ bull a couple of years ago, but the biggest I have seen would have gone just over 400. They are so cool to watch.

Biggest Moose, well at 10 feet with shreded velvet all over his bloody horns and a really pissed off look on his face, he looked like the size of a SUV (A ford Excursion). He wasnt really that big but it was definatly bigger then I wanted to be that close to.

Biggest Mule Deer... Whitehorse Mtn Arizona, Perfect typical 5x5 with forks at least 20in long each, rack must have been 4ft tall and 35in wide

Biggest Elk...3-corners 5x5 with mass all the way out to the tips of at least 10in around every point

Biggest Antelope...outside Green River Wyoming, at least 18in length and prongs of about 8in

Biggest Grizzly/Brown Bear... Anchor Point River & the Russian River Alaska...I swear it was at least 2000lbs... I went to Heber Ut and saw BART the bear when he was alive and the one I saw on the Anchor river made BART ( suppose to weigh 1500lbs)look like a cub.

Biggest Black Bear.. that SOB that put me in the beaver pond in Red Cedar Lake Ontario and kept me in the pond for 5 hours, estimated weight of 700 - 800 pounds and at least 7 1/2 ft tall. that bear reached up and snatched a milk crate held with a 1/2 steel cable in a tree like it was thread.

( Of course I will deny this whole episode if ever asked
but I was hiding in a ground blind ( a fallen down Cabin
with the last 3 logs still standing) and I heard the bear walking up behind me but thought it was on the outside of the cabin but instead it was behind me IN THE CABIN. I turned around when I hear it breathing and it was about 3ft behind me... I dropped my bow, hopped over the wall and ended up in the beaver pond. every time I tried to come out he would run around the pond and back towards the middle of the pond I would go. finally I heard the guides truck coming and when he stopped and turned off the engine I hollered to him that there was a big Fing bear at the site that wouldnt go away...a couple shotgun blasts and the bear ran off and I got out of the pond and went back to the truck with him....worst part was that not only did he tell the story to everyone else at the lodge, but that his wife was talking to my GF on the phone and she said " Here he comes now, and he is soaking wet" so I had to explain what happened to her while the rest of the guests were rolling on the floor laughing there guts out...
3 days later the same bear pulled anouther hunter out of his tree stand by the heal of his boot( had to take him to Thunder Bay to the Doc) so I had some small revenge.
I have gone back 3 times trying to get revenge on that bear but never have met up with him again..this was in 1987)

Like I said... I will DENY that this event ever took place!!!!

185 perfect 4x4 muley,
330 class elk
and last but not least a 6 1/2 pound Grey squirrel, that $0* squrrel was so fat he could hardly run, too bad I only had a juvenile tag for squirrels that year though :-(

Biggest muley- around 190-195, actually have seen a few of them, just never able to close the deal with the bow.

Elk-probably around 360, though I could be wrong on this one. Not too good at scoring elk.

Pronghorn-my dads 92 inch buck he shot when I was around three. That thing is huge. (Too bad the skull got broken in half somewhere along the line, or it'd be in B&C.)

LAST EDITED ON Aug-22-08 AT 02:41PM (MST)[p]The last few years I've been hunting with a small local group occasionally (not by choice) and they always see 380-400" bulls......in the same herd of elk I'm watching....literally. They've seen (and not killed) 40" wide muleys and 60" shiras moose...all in sw MT. If I only had the skill these folks have then maybe I would see something nice and huge. Or maybe they don't know what the aich they are talking about. Why don't these muleys and moose show up in the record books from this area EVER? Cue the hipboots.

I usually take what they say, multiply by 2 and divide by 3 to get an approximate measurement.

Deer: 180+ who knows, the patch of fur that kept moving around in my scope was keeping me busy enough. All I know is tall, wide, with stuff sticking out everywhere.

Elk: I've seen the big NT bull in Kachina village that RedRabbit has posted. I'd guess he's probably at least in the 400" gross category.

I've seen a few other big fat creatures, but we'll leave those stories for a different site!

Nick

Biggest deer- Last year on the winter range, 12X7, over 220". Was lucky enough to pick up his sheds.

Biggest Elk- The Lucky bull, killed by Jimmy Ryan.

229 4x5 mule deer on my wall, 200 38.5 inch wide 4x5 mule deer on my wall. 410 elk on the upper salt river now on someone elses wall!

Well here goes i see regularly under every tree 421 3/8 elk!!
Deer 220 bucks are small there was this one that was bigger than an elk would have grossed well over 421 3/8! I think i saw an 8x7 this year cause thats all there is on the wasatch apparently, that would have netted 522!
ive seen beavers that were all of 200 lbs badgers that could take both legs with one bite squirrels that eat coyotes and mice that take steak with one bite!
honestly though
Deer, 210 non typ
Elk, 390 and change

huge whitetail west of hulet ,wyoming 22 -23 inches wide with eyeguards almost as long as his g2's chasing a doe down the private drive of the guy's land we hunted the year before. not fifty yards from the pick up he only had one thing on his mind .

LAST EDITED ON Aug-22-08 AT 06:54PM (MST)[p] we hunted deer but didn't draw the elk tag for 7x8 i'd guess 400 +
there is a 7x7 up there last year we think would go 400 never heard of anyone getting him. i never could get ahead of him with my bow last year. didn't draw this year so i haven't checked up on him this year. if he is still there i'll see or hear him while bowhunting deer starting in 9 days
its hard to type holding the grand doughter she's not happy putering.
i saw a huge muley buck in sundance when i was 14 yrs old.
its still the biggest buck i've ever seen on the hoof and there is some big ones here in town.
rancher took a picture of it in his corn feild it had 14 points on one side. never thought about score in those days but i'd guess him to have been 230 or more.
never heard of anyone ever getting him either.
when i saw him it was two weeks tell the season but we never saw him again.

nochawk, that bear incident happened to you, but I might have nightmares tonight! Holy cow man! LOL!

I was bowhunting for blacktails back about 1968, and was driving in my 61 VW bug down this dirt road. I happened to look at a little clearing up under some Pine trees and there was a monster blacktail buck standing there watching me go by. My heart almost stopped! I kept driving for about 1/4 mile and pulled over and parked. The wind was good so I sneaked back down the road. He busted me at about 45 yards and as he was leaving I could see 4X4 with eyegards. He was at least 24" wide with deep forks. When he ran he lunged, kind of like cows do. I have never seen a blacktail like it since.

I deny all events that happened... You will never see a MARINE run away from hand to paw combat...

I stay in tree's now.. no more ground blinds for this child..

Had a honest 36" muley run across the road in front of me after surprising him in a hay field one winter, dont know how many points..ALOT of them. Have seen several over the years in Nevada that would go well past 30"...always on the next ridge headed for the next county.

360" bull that had a couple of broken points that brought his score down around 342"..how do i know? shot him.

Couple of big a** rattlesnakes.

King salmon close to 50 lbs. broke the line at the boat.

i killed Bigfoot with a BB gun, still remember it like it was yesterday...then i woke up.
