Anybody know much about this area? How far north of Rabbit ears is it? OTC elk what unit migration hunt? Thanks alot for any replys.

I'm not sure what you'd consider an area. Lake john is west of Walden in area 161. It is near a small pocket of public land, but it does not look much like elk country to me. Most of the elk I've seen in 161 (and I'm no expert) were farther north and crossed on and off of Independence Mountain, from there west to the forest.
But don't fool yourself, it was like a parade with all of the hunters driving around chasing elk. Cool thing was, we were there in the cold, snowy season of 2002 and they hammered those elk.
