Well my dad, myself and my buddy Cody all had 33/37b archery pig tags so we headed down Monday night to a spot where I had been seeing pigs everyday while helping Mr. Smith and his wife on there December tags. We got to our perch right at first light in hopes of finding some good bucks while looking for the pigs. We get setup and find a decent 2 point right away but decide not to go after it and keep looking for pigs. At 9 or so Cody found the herd I had pegged down in the same spot as always. We all worked our way over there and got on them. I got to 30 yards from one and let it fly. I hit a touch back but still got the liver good and the pig expired within 30 yards. Then a big ol' sow walked in front of my dad at 20 yards and he pumped it right in the heart. This was my dads first ever archery animal on his first archery hunt in the first morning so he is spoiled even if it is a pig . Cody never had a shot opprotunity because the pigs were to low and he never had a clear lane. He went after the pigs and got on them about 10 minutes later and shot his at 10 yards. All of the pigs expired within 30 yards of where we shot them.
My dad and I were shooting 2 blade rage broadheads and this is the second pig I have taken with one. All 3 pigs had fantastic blood trails to go with them and the all died fast. Cody shot his with a Grim Reaper and it left a gaping hole and did the job well.
