After reading the previous threads concerning this camera, I'm ready to load the plastic. My questions to the site members are: 1. The camera uses "SD" memory, can I use any SD chip or is it Panasonic proprietary? 2. Are there different grades of memory (not size)? 3. Do you load from the camera to a PC or purchase a chip reader? I'm new to the digital photography thing but very interested. Any assistance would be appreciated. Dan

You can use any SD card, doesn't have to be Panasonic. Don't think there are different grades of "memory", just pictures size (quality). Direct download from camera straight to folder on your computer. Enjoy the camera.

Be sure and check e-bay. There are large trusted stores that sell NEW panasonics for great prices. You can find the camera with a 256 MB card and USB reader thingy for 550.00. This would be closer to 700.00 in a store. You can tell by my use of the word "thingy" that I'm learning about them also.
