Parka/Coat suggestion

I'm in need of a new cold weather coat. I've narrowed it down to 2 that won't break the bank. Anyone use either of these or have any other suggestions?

a. Cabela's Outfitter Wool Jacket with Dry Plus
b. Cabela's Rain/Snow exchange Jacket with Dry Plus

I don't need it to be all rain jacket, but would like it to resist some moisture if possible.

I haven't used those two specifically. I have a Cabela's Rainsuede Dry Plus insulated parka and have been very pleased with it so far. Dry and warm. It's been all over the west and Alaska as well. You do need to renew the durable water repellant (DWR) coating very two years or so, but that's the case with any breathable waterproof clothing such as Goretex or Dry Plus.

Browning hydrofleece gortex. As good as anything out there and better than most (including Sitka). Buy it large so you can layer under it-its not insulated but still much more substantial than packable rainwear.
