Anyone been seeing elk on the paunsagaunt this year?

My hunting buddies co-worker had an elk tag down there this year.... He killed a rag horn. I really don't know any other details.

My niece killed a 335 6 point on the early rifle. Pauns bulls are few and if they survive a few years , nocturnal.

I spent a lot of time on the unit this summer and fall. Very few elk seen and very few even on camera. Better elk hunting on OTC units. Crazy to use any points and a 5 year wait on this hunt IMO

I drew it for archery this year. I've hunted it three times in the past, twice when they had the AR301 hunt. In the past I've always gotten into elk and good bulls. Not this year, it was the worst I've ever seen. Record heat and dry.
I have a lot of friends that live in Tropic and they told me before the hunt that the numbers have dwindled a lot since the DWR have been issuing a lot more elk tags than in the past. There's elk roaming around there and a couple nice bulls left but I won't put in again after this year.

Nearly every doe I saw looked like she was starving to death.

Most of doe's I saw that looked as if they were starving to death had twin fawns.
