I just saw this post on the UDWR's website and I am reposting the link and the post here to see if anyone can help solve this crime:

Any of you that bow hunt the wasatch mountains know how difficult it can be to stalk up on those big bucks in that steep terrain.
Well last Sunday morning at day break someone with a goatee beard and a blue Polaris 4 wheeler decided he would do it the easy way and popped a huge buck from the top of a ridge in little cottonwood canyon.
He drove down to his hard-won trophy, cut off the head and made his escape.
DWR was notified and they were questioning campers in the area. An autopsy was performed on the buck to try to determine caliber size, etc.
He took the buck I was hunting for this season and happened to miss on opening morning of the bow hunt. I guess I have to switch to his smaller brother.
Would everyone please ask around and see if anyone has any infromation on this poaching. There is an open investigation so you can call 662-DEER and report any additional info.
Also all of you taxidermists out there - he did take the time to cape the buck. It is a big typical 4x4 that looked to be about 28" -30" wide and about 25" tall.
This kind of activity not only ruins the sport for the rest of us that are busting our humps to do it the right way, but it makes all of us look like jackasses in the eyes of the average person.
Thanks for letting me vent...
