Preference Point Question

I have gotten two different answers from Fish and Game on this question so I am hoping someone more familiar with the regs can clear this one up. I currently have 0 points. If I pay the extra $50 and buy a preference point going into this years draw, will I have 1 point for the 2010 draw?

No, you will have 1 point for the 2011 draw. You get the points after the draw not before.

If you're planning to put in for a tag i would apply for the pp as well. If you don't draw your first choice you will have a pp for next year.

Your window to buy a point passed, it's July 1- Sept 30th every year.

Cali is right. If you'd have been on the ball a few months ago, yes you could be going into the 2010 draw with 1 point. Too late now, 0 points for 2010. If you don't draw in 2010 and have paid the point fee then you'll have 1 point for 2011.
