Can anybody suggest a game processor and or a taxidermist in or around Winston or Townsend we will be hunting the Elkhorns.

Hey Scooby.

I can't really help you on a processor (although there is a couple of guys in Townsend that will do it). If come into Helena, Tizer Meats does an "ok" job. Their sweet italian and jalapeno cheddar sausages are very good, but I really prefer my own jerky to theirs.

As for a taxidermist, definitely drive the 30 miles into Helena to bring your animals to Matt Davis at Trails West.

There is a taxidermy shop along the highway in Townsend and I can't say I've ever seen any of their work. But, I've seen about a dozen of Davis' mounts in the last year and the work is fantastic.

There is a good game processor in White Sulphur Springs, they work 7 days a week during the seasons.
