Imagine that.....exactly where that bull was stranded in the Cliffs.

What say ye now?

Gotta admit, heart shot has a good point?
You mean had it still been alive after spending almost 3 weeks in one spot without a nibble or a sip and somehow not been swept off the cliff in the avalanche?
Sure....I guess it's possible ?

Not too mention it's thin legs acting like trek poles in the soft 10' deep snow.....

I saw the other post slam!
That bull was there for multiple days?

I think that avalanche was actually further up the canyon by the dam, while the elk was closer to the Sundance turn off. Either way, it's a DEAD issue! o_O
Lol.....yes, with no pun intended ?

Bad deal all around.
That new highway has changed the migration routes and basically that whole north side from the tunnel to the dam is a sheer wall and didn't used to be.

More heavy snows expected this entire week, I wish those elk stuck in that canyon would just keep walking west and pop out onto the Wasatch front above Orem, Lindon and PG and they'd be fine.

They will not be fine as Orem etc is still in Utah.

The big bad shed hunters will get them!

So they had 5 days to haze it up the same way it came down?
I don't know specifics on the incident, just what I was told and what their story is.

I'm just glad the bull didn't fall unexpectedly into oncoming traffic and kill someone, I suppose I share the same thoughts the DNR did ?

I don't either.

But I know if a few bulls that fit cut down "because they were too injured" to survive.

Both of which sustained those injuries years previous and both had made it through rutting, 2-3 years.

I don't like too quick to kill because a bull might fall on the road, or cross one
