Well guys, how was it this year? Same old same old, better, worse? I was unable to go due to the fact that I have been in the hospital and unable to walk for the past week and a half due to an accident involving ice, a bale of alfalfa, 2 ruptured discs and a couple of pinched nerves. Woo Hoo!!! I am pissed that it happened the week of the Sportsman's Show and Seattle Boat Show. So How was either or both of them?

That's terrible man, rest up, take care of that back, you only have one! I'm going tomorrow, I'll let ya know.

Going down hill in my opinion, I was all prepared to spend some money but I came home with nothing. The "ladies in waders" booth was pretty interesting....

If your lookin to book a hunt or fishing trip it is obviously the place to be, but if your looking for gear it was pretty lame.

Thumbs down on the horn competition. They didn't have but 3 or 4 of the top trophies displayed as of yesterday. They were all hidden behind where you can't see them. If anyone goes today post some pics if they finally display them. PRetty much the same outfitters and guides as usual. Kids got to catch thier first fish though, a nice 15" and 13" trout. That made the show worthwhile imo.

Sorry to hear about your back. Hope you are doing better. Did you ever make it north to look for sheds. I made it up there Friday and found lots of snow. Good snowmobiling. I didn't give antlers much of a chance, but found one under a warm tree.

Sorry to hear about your accident! Hope you get yourself well very soon!

The horn competition was a big disappointment in my opinion. We enjoy seeing the top trophies displayed and we didn't see that many as all were hidden from public view. I hope that those of you who are going Sunday will post some pics. Same outfitters and guides, same booths and displays. I was looking for some Leupold binos I was going to buy but didn't find any! Guess I'll spend the money somewhere's else. Ran into some old friends and got caught up on how their hunting seasons went and that made the show worthwhile. I'm looking forward to Monroe, Portland, MDF Banquet, and RMEF Banquet.

HC-

How is the Portland show? I am going to be down there on business and am thinking about going to that show on Thursday night. I'm also looking forward to the big show in February.

I think the show was alright. There was a few new/different things. A lot of the same old stuff too. I spent some time talking to the guy with the pack goats. I'm in the process of ordering one of the wall tents from Bravo. The dude kinda bugged me, but gotta like his tents. I spent a lot of time BS'n with different outfits....too much time.

My wife went with me Saturday so we spent a lot of time with the people she went to Africa with this last year. That was cool.

ridge.....the Portland Show is awesome! I went last year and spent 8hrs. down there and saw half the show. Give me call if you want when your down there, I'll be down there Thursday evening and staying down there. I plan on spending all day Friday down there as well. Good place to buy stuff too....no tax! :)

I enjoyed it, better food and trip booths this year. I did score some good Canadian tackle there, you just need to rummage around a bit. Horns were agreed a bit lame. Did book a great outfitter trip and found a good Alaskan trip to do with the wife next year. Was drooling over the NW Jet Signature 24'.

Ridgerunner- This will be the first time I attend the Portland show. A buddy of mine goes every year and says it is considerably bigger than the Puyallup show. Thought i'd try to make it down this year.

I was also looking at the Bravo wall tents, not quite yet ready to purchase though.

We left Puyallup and ended our day at the George Strait concert in Tacoma.... it was an Awesome evening if you're a "King George" fan!

I hope you're doing better Eric. I've been there. Not fun.

How does a polarbear slip on the ice?????:)

polarbear!!!

HOPE YOU'RE DOING O.K.???

THAT DON'T SOUND GOOD AT ALL???

THE ONLY bobcat!!!

Hope you feel better Pbear!! So did anybody book any hunts at the show? I went down to the portland gun show with my son and ended up buying a davey cricket 22 lr for my daughter. The little rifle is pink!! She just loves it. Wanted to sleep with it last night. After the gun show we stopped by the sportsman show to look at some of the racks that were there. Most of them were'nt displayed very well. Was only there for about an hour!! The monroe show is real close for us and our whole family likes to go too that one.

I had the Bravo tent guy repair my tent and put a window in this year. He might be a little hard to talk to but they do great work on tents.

My hunting bud Chad bought a Bravo wall tent last year, he said he looked at several at the shows and on line. He used it in Wyoming this fall on an antelope hunt, said it was awesome, he's real happy with it, but he did say something about the guy he dealt with being a little strange.

Didn't go at all...i'll go to the monroe show. elected to go fishing instead.
by the sounds of it, i'm glad i made that decision.
why were they hiding the horn porn??

They weren't really hiding the Horn Porn, but they just had heads and horns laying all over the floor. They had a very little area to hang em' up. The ones they used to hang up, they'd have a piece of paper up next to it saying, what county, score, name, things like that....this year, none of that. A little disappointing.

My boys and I went on Sunday, I think they could have done a much better job displaying "this years" racks. Like Muleyslyr said, it was very hard to tell the new from the old. I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the hunting gear. I did not see any really good names represented. Most seemed to be surplus stuff. I was hoping the Eberstock people would have a display.
Oh well, I was able to drool over some nice boats and I came home with some more Mesquite Garlic rub so it was not to bad a disappointment.
LOL

There are only two types of people - The Hunters and the hunted,
I hunt.

Thanks guys!!!!!!
Right now my goal is to be walking well enough to go to the show in Monroe. I can only go a few yards with a walker right now. I tried to talk my wife into letting me go in a wheeelchair and have my bro-in-law push me around, but no dice. I have to see a neurosurgeon in a couple of weeks to see if that is my next step. It figures, just after my wife gave me the ok to hunt Alaska, this sh!t happens. oh well. Haaahaaa.......

Is the show in Monroe basically the same as the one in Puallup? I want to go to the one in Portland next week, but aint gonna ba ready by then.

Eel, I would love some turtle liver extract! Maybe it will mix with my meds and give me a psychodelic experience!!!! "'Scuse my while I kiss the sky!"

THE ONLY polarbear ORTHO ENOUGH TO SLIP ON THE ICE!!!!!!!

Nope, doesn't sound fun. My boss just launched himself skiing and they had to rebuild his shoulder with bolts. Sucks. I've been lucky that way, though I've had enough stitches to sew a whole XL Tshirt.

Going to hit the Seattle boat show, anyone else??
