South Dakota just finished its season and I wanted some opinions on it. It started November 1 and ends when the first of the following three happen. It will end on December 31 or when 35 mountain lions are killed or when 15 females are killed. Any way a few days ago the 15th female was killed with a total of only 18 or so mountain lions being taken. We are not allowed to hunt with dogs in South Dakota. My questions are what does the very high female population mean and with that many lions shot in that short a time without dogs should the state allow more to be taken? I know absolutely nothing about mountain lions so was just wondering.
