I feel like I've been waterboarded! The only highlight was the tribute to George Sr and the Navy Seal. Laura comes out and gives kind of a vanilla speech. George appears on the screen and quickly gives the American public the reason they should have elected McCain as candidate in 1999.

Where is Dyckhead? It's no secret Dyckhead does not like McCain, not even a little bit. In typical Dyckhead style he has given the finger to the RNC and the McCain campaign. Dyckhead has been busy looking for his new pad in Dubai for when he leaves office.

Fred Thompson was great at being boring. When you are more boring than Joe Leiberman you have really accomplished something

So I guess I am supposed to buy into all this "Maverick" and "Reformer" bullshet that being spoon fed to me.

Hey Look! It's the Reformers McCain and Palin, reforming the corruption that has occurred while their own party was in power for 6 of the last 8 years. Restoring integrity back to the Whitehouse and the Contract for America my azz.

And what is it with people that attend these conventions? If it's the Dems the audience looks like a cross between the lobby at the United Nations and a Gay Bar.

If it's the Reps. it looks like a cross between a morgue and a waiting line at the Diet Center in Missoula, Montana on Veterans Day. I counted 6 people of color in the audience, there were only 4 in 2004. The GOP has indeed made real strives over the past 4 years to reach across the color line.

FTW;
If you are so displeased with both parties and the american people in general. why don't you just pack your bags and move to another country and do you whining and crying there. I am sure there is some other country that might consider taking you.
You are more of the problem of what's wrong with this country and you contribute squat to the solution.

RELH,

I thought FTW made some great observations. You should come visit sometime. So what country are you from?

Looks like two hard core gun grabbing liberals are not going to vote republican this fall. What a shock. Bill Clinton currently does work for the country of Dubai and has recieved over ten million dollars for speeches he gave there. I guess he and GW will be neighbors? Really I agree that both parties conventions are meaningless and a waste of taxpayers money. Dems have the best producers in Hollywood do theirs and the republicans just try to get the mics to work right. With the new revelations on Biden's ties to the Rezco mess and the false reporting on Palin by the NYT there is plenty of fodder for the campaign ads so we just have to see who can shovel the most chit.

I thought Thompsons speech was pretty good actually. And the way that the left-wing media is sticking thier spears into Joe Lieberman, it might have made an impact on some of the indies and democrats on the fence. I didn't particularly care for Joe L. as I see him as more of a liberal democrat instead of the Zell Miller style of dem that my parents were.

The tribute to the Navy Seal Mike Monsoor was great. I've friends and family who've taken one for the team, and its nice to know that at least one party has the decency to honor these people.

Zigga was right, it was kind of a boring convention, but to be fair it was interrupted by the no-story Gustav thing that didn't kill enough or damage enough stuff for the main-stream media pogues, but did cause enough concern that the RNC decided to postpone their convention until things calmed down. But again, for a socialist, it would be a yawner.

Tonight should be pretty good as Sarah Palin is speaking. Maybe the Nation will be able to see what 70% of the Alaskans are seeing. A no nonsense Governor who just may be the whip the Senate needs to get off their dead, democrat majority asses and do something besides pule and whine about anything the right side of the aisle says.

Hollywood invented "The Messiah." It stands to reason that their conventions would make better eye candy. The faux Greek architecture. The noise and pomp and distraction. What you see there is fiction. B-Ho was made for the masses much like a clay-mation character. Their is no substance there. The lefts "production" is solely done to distract from the fact that B-Ho is empty. The celebration of nothing is still a celebration.

Its sad that there is some among us who are too enthralled by the "show" to see what lurks behind this character, which is moveon.org, media matters, socialists orgs., anti-gun groups, et.al.

Wholly crap does Palin suck or what? she's so dull I want to hear Bush chime in just to take it up a notch. McCain has to be crying right now.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-03-08 AT 09:30PM (MST)[p]Well I thought tonight was like watching a car that could not quite catch gear. That is until it hit 5th, the car started running pretty good, then it shifted into 6th and took off.

Rudy was good at waking up the crowd and Palin did a fantastic job at addressing the crowd. Her speaking skills and delivery are far better than McCain. I am sure there are plenty of fired up Republicans, especially Republican women.

Whether or not this speech will woo Hillary voters to overlook her pro-life position is yet to be seen. However, if that speech didn't get them thinking, hmmmm, nothing will.

Palin is actually going to be a hard act for McCain to follow. Is it me or was the audience comprised of a lot of fat white guys in suits? Some of those guys had to go 400 lbs easy.

It did start out slow, but it became abundantly clear in the end, that Sarah Palin is a bigger man than Barak Obama.

After the conventions fade, it will boil down to McCain and Obama.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-03-08 AT 11:05PM (MST)[p]Palin has showed she is able to get in there and speak with the big boys. She hit Obama hard, but did it in a way that did not appear to be mud slinging or vindictive. I think she also did a good job of possibly shuting up some of the liberal press that has been taking hits at her on matters that are unimportant or no facts to support. If they keep it up, it will just turn off voters that will end up supporting her.
Rudy did a very good job of exposing Obama's lack of experience and being a very undecisive person on matters that count. Bringing out Obama's voting record of just being "present" showed he can not make up his mind on a lot of things. When he did make a decision, most of them turned out to be the wrong decision in the end results.
I like how Obama's campaign spokesperson ruled the speech as just being written by Bush's speech writer and just the same old retoric from the Bush campaign. In other words they could not find any thing hard core to dispute and are having a hard time covering their butts and make points.
Palin has shown she is a very good speaker that can appeal to the average American, now if she is as good when stumping for votes and answering hard core questions, Obama is in deep poop up to his eyebrows. I think Hillary is laughting in her beer right now and old slick willy just danced on the table top.
Obama has been trying very hard to keep from debating McCain for fear his smoke screen will desolve, but McCain and now Palin has just about forced him into it for he has nothing left to save face with the voters. He is going to be screwed if he does not debate on the hard core issues and gets pinned down on his "Change" in goverment, and if he debates he will be hard pressed to answer the tough questions he stumble on before.
It going to be very interesting to watch.

RELH

FTW, yea there was a few fat white guys, but did you also notice a lot of young people, black americans, VFW members. The older members of socialty was there in abundance also. I also noticed a lot of young good looking women, but I am not allowed to comment on that when my wife is sitting beside be watching. I would say there was a good mix of the American people there. I think we will see a lot more women involved in the coming campaign before Nov.

The liberals are backpedalling and squealing like stuck pigs this morning. Scrambling to figure out why the character assassination teams have failed and worrying about what Biden the old thief will do in the 10/4 debate against "Palin the impaler". She is going to make him look like freaking Jeffrey Dahlmer. LMAO!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-04-08 AT 08:28AM (MST)[p]I don't think she will out debate anyone. Gore and Kerry both made w look like a retarded fool and he still won. (No offense to you retards.) It makes for some good entertainment though. Biden has been there and done that so she won't be enlightening him at all.

Palin will not have to out-debate the old washington warhorse Biden, simply, she just needs to hold her own. As experienced as Biden is he better crush her or it will appear the experience factor means nothing for the Dems.

T264

"or it will appear the experience factor means nothing for the Dems."

What experience factor??....I love the way Rudy and Sarah brought that out last night.... The community organizer comment really hit the nail on the head..... We have a Democratic candidate with no relevant executive experience running for the highest office in the country.... That's is equivilent to a burger flipper at McDonalds applying for a head chefs position at a five star resturaunt...... Terry

Palin gave a hell of a speach! I think she has rejuvinated the Bushies that have been bummed because they did not really want to cast their vote for Moderate McCain. I think subconsciously the Bushies believe Palin is running for Pres and McCain is "just there". The atmosphere sure seems like that anyway as the Right Wingers light up when she gets on stage.

I think Guliani and Palin dug deep into BO with regard to experience and the Dems will be licking their wounds trying to think of a way to counter. This is getting pretty entertaining. I think BO is loosing ground quickly and will now be on the defense. The debates will be the final tell all. The pressure will be on BO/JB as they must do exceptionally well to get back the mojo! On the other hand JM/SP just have to hold their own. The tide has turned in a few months and now the RightWingers have the upper hand (it is theirs to lose).

It is looking more and more like 2012 will be a fierce battle of ESTROGEN when Hillary and Sarah "Get it On". "Let's get ready to Rumble!!!!!!" Heck they may have to have that debate on Pay Per View.. I would pay!
