I shoot a bowtech 101st air bourn with a 400 gr arrow on a 29" draw at about 300 to 310 fps. i just now sited in the thirty yard pin and there is less between a 1/16 and 1/8 of an inch go gap beteen pins. for 3d's and hunting should i sight in at 25 and then go forty just to get some spacing between pins or just go with 20 though 60 like i always have? when you get this speed how does your pin setup go? i know the 3d rules for not over 280 but are club does not speed cheak but when go to state i will drop to 280 at 60 lbs instead of 67, but for the mean time whats the norm on speed bows.

I dont shoot speed bows, I have a Dren LD at 70 lb and a Vectrix XL at 64 lb, both shoot in the 280s and both have 5 pin sights set at 25,40,50,60,70. Just not enough gap between a 20 and 30, and unless you are shooting paper I dont think its worth separating the two.

I Shoot an Allegience and have my pins set at:
25
40
50
60
70
I see no need for a twenty and thirty yard pin for hunting. I most likely will not sneak to within 20 yards and my bow shoots flat to 25.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-07-09 AT 09:27PM (MST)[p]I shoot alot of 3D tournaments and shoot with guys who shoot in the upper 300's. I personally like 20 - 60 yards pins. If you are comfortable that way I suggest the spot hog with the long bar and the .10 series pins, that will allow the pins to get extremely close together or make the gap bigger between pins due to how small the pins are.

Just got the XR sight from G5, three fixed pins and a floating pin at the bottom. First 3 are set at 25,40,50, bottom one sits at 60 but is easily adjusted out to 100. Great sight, I love it.

My top pin is for 30. I have a 30-90. I practice at 80 and 90 all summer. It makes the 40 and 50 yd shots easy!
