RATTLERS FOUND ON MUZZY HUNT HALLOWEEN 09

LAST EDITED ON Nov-02-09 AT 02:50PM (MST)[p]Well had a muzzy mule deer this past Sat & Sun with no luck hunting in Southern N.M. but I did found a new snake den and managed to bring 7 large ones home out of 40 or more seen. they were all ready denned up for the season and just laying inside or at the entrances.

I always thought taste/texture was cross of either frog legs or chicken and chewing gum!!
You take pretty awesome pics of those diamondbacks...I wouldn't be too comfortable being on the same hillside with them!

MAN!!! i HATE them things...but i sure do love coming across one. One question because i like getting the rattles and skins...how do you tan the hides? Ive done one before with just salt and seems they are too brittle that way. Ive heard you can soak them in antifreeze, but i have no idea....so..how do you tan a rattler?

Those are fantastic pictures! I'm not a big fan of snakes and would rather face a charging Brown Bear than those snakes, but those shots are superb.
