Ready or Not Here I come!!

Just got called for a Oryx Pop. Management Hunt Sat. on Fort Bliss. My number is 27 and looks like there will be 5 other hunters hunting Sat during this hunt. Has anyone else been on Fort Bliss for this hunt? I guess all I need to do is shoot good and pack 500lbs of ice to fill'er up once it hits the ground. 1 day hunt so might be able to post pics Sunday If I whack one.

Let me know if anyone has been on Fort Bliss for this hunt. Do they let you hunt on your own or are all these hunts escorted?

Awesome Tye!! Been on 2 of them. Both my sons went. 38" Bull and 38" Cow.

One one we had the bioligist travel in our truck with us which was pretty cool because we got a chance to talk to him quite a bit.

the other time the G&F guy followed us about 1/4 mile and let us do our own thing.

Very nice Paul. I hope I can get one just like either one of those big guys. This is my first Oryx hunt in 20 years of putting in. My wife got her OIL her second year in.

When I got the call from NMDGF my first thought was why the call cause I haven't done anything wrong. It turned out to be great news. I said yes and then reliezed I have an antelope hunter on the North hunt. I then said what if I don't take the hunt would I get another call down the road? He said more like a zero chance and I said that was a no brain'er that I will be there. I got other guys that will take care of my hunter so I'm on the range at 0500 Sat. morning for the hunt.


I haven't been able to sleep since the call and now after the pics no sleep tonight or Friday night. Thanks for the post Paul.

I was supposed to go there for my population reduction last year, but it got cancelled and I ended up at the Jornado. I called ahead of time and spoke to the contact...he informed me that they will try to get you a big one and he expected the group to be done by noon. Said there are so many that I would have a good opportunity to take a monster. Good luck!

I will be taking my 11 year old son, brother "PCHA", Robert Major one of best friends and my Taxi. man, and another great friend and guide "Road Trip Ready SAM". Looking to have a great time with the guys.

I lied...it was Holloman AF I was called to hunt and it got cancelled. Good luck anyways!
