I have a Remington 700 .280 mountain rifle I got about 27 years ago. I replaced the stock with a synthetic stock. I still have the original wood stock - are stocks universal on the 700?

I have someone who wants to buy it and is asking what it fits and I am not sure.

Is it a long action right?

What is a ballpark price the wood stock is worth in great shape? $100?

280 Would be a long action. The only issue may be the inlet for the barrel, the mountain rifles have a pretty thin barrel contour. I don't really know about price.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-22-17 AT 05:41PM (MST)[p]If its still in really good shape with not a lot of dings are scratches you might get $150. And like the other poster mentioned they are all the same as far as long or short action and ADL or BDL or the DBM they had for awhile, the only big difference is the barrel inlet might not work out if the other guy doesn't have a Mtn contour barrel. If not its likely a sporter contour, it could be opened up to fit.

Geez...be a Pal...you got 27 years of good use out of it...give it to one of your grandkids....HEHEHE
