Yeah he did something to us, wait what did he do? oh well he's a rag head. Bin Laden would make a better show than some 2 bit dictator of a country that did nothing to us. if we put the effort into finding Bin Laden we did into screwing up Iraq what do you want to bet he would be the one swinging?

What's wrong with that thinking? wouldn't you rather have Bin Laden's head? tell me we wouldn't if we would have directed all our efforts to Afganistan rather than Iraq. then tell me Iraq was worth it anyway, well you will anyway but go ahead. the rag head's would maybe have a little more respect for us if we would have completed our mission there rather than being side tracked in Iraq to another battle we have yet to win. we're zero for two now and I'd rather be one for one. com'on put us in the spin zone now.

You mean this spin??????

What Did The Democrats Say About Iraq's WMD

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JANUARY 30, 2004 | Printable Version
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003 | Source

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 | Source

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 | Source

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998 | Source

"We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."
- Madeline Albright, Feb 1, 1998 | Source

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 | Source

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton.
- (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998 | Source

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 | Source

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999 | Source

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002 | Source

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 | Source

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002 | Source

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 | Source

Shiites, Kurds celebrate upon hearing court's guilty verdict
NBC NEWS EXCLUSIVE

BREAKING NEWS

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's High Tribunal on Sunday found Saddam Hussein guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced him to hang for the 1982 killing of 148 Shiites in the city of Dujail. The visibly shaken former leader shouted "God is great!"

Saddam's half brother and former intelligence chief Barzan Ibrahim, and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, head of the former Revolutionary Court, were sentenced to join Saddam on the gallows for the Dujail killings after an unsuccessful assassination attempt during a Saddam visit to the city 35 miles north of Baghdad.

The death sentences automatically go to a nine-judge appeals panel which as unlimited time to review the case. If the verdicts and sentences are upheld, the executions must be carried out within 30 days.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! They should have an old fashoned town square hanging! If it were in the U.S. he would die of old age before the sentence was carried out. How about a live broadcast on Thanksgiving day?

Here's what the chairman of the DNC has to say, sure looks like a glowing endorsment for the policies of President Bush...

HOWARD DEAN STATEMENT ON THE SADDAM VERDICT [Byron York]
The DNC chairman praises the result that would not have come without the actions he opposed:

"Justice for the Iraqi people was finally served today with the conviction of Saddam Hussein. This dictator ruled by fear, torturing and murdering his own people to satisfy his malicious interests. It's commendable and important that he was brought to justice in the country where he committed these atrocities against humanity.

Iraq is in the middle of a civil war and growing sectarian violence will be an even greater concern following this verdict. Our troops should be commended for providing the security needed to conduct this trial in Iraq and for their ongoing efforts to put an end to the violence and protect the Iraqi people."

I'd expect the review process to drag on forever, either way things will be even more tense now between those wanting him hanged and those who will retaliate if he is. there's no way to win over there.

The Sunni's care, make no mistake about it if Saddam dies so will more American troops. all it will do is divide Iraq worse than it is now. I don't give a crap about Saddam but no good will come of his hanging as far as our troops or Iraq goes. Saddam's a dead man walking but hell be walking for a while yet, I suppose they could bite the bullet and get it done but I'd bet against it.

Now Tony Blair says he opposes the death sentence for Saddam, don't buy your tickets quite yet.

Dude, getting rid of a man who killed people in the streets, tortured his own countrymen, and pillaged the middle east is not a bad idea is it?

Your opinion is nice but the fact is that Bush went in and got the dirty bugger and Clinton did not (could not). Saddam will hang and we will all be better for it.

"One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Britan has always opposed the death sentence. No surprise there. Bunch of pansies that we had to save in the 40's still don't know how to get the job done on ruthless dictators with out our help.

"One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Well . . . it isn't up to Tony Blair how Saddam's punishment is decided. I suspect the appeals process will be short and to the point. Don't expect this to drag out like it does in the US judicial system.

Here's a thought . . . is it possible that with Saddam and a few of his more egregious henchment dead that some of the hubub will quiet down in Iraq? To the extent any of the insurgents are Saddam loyalists, won't the death of Saddam take some of the air out of their sails?

Drop him in the middle of San Fran with a "I hate Fags" t-shirt and "God Bless America" hat on. He'll be beaten to death with feather boas and stiletto heels.

You don't understand rag heads if you think Saddams death will quite them down. revenge is what they live for, his death will only inspire the Sunni . I doubt it will make much difference one way or the other they're going to fight forever anyway.

To call the British a bunch of pansies for the fight they put up in World War II really shows a lack of historical knowledge. The RAF in the Battle of Britain showed among the greatest courage of any force in history. It really makes me wonder. The reason Bush senior didn't take out Saddam is he didn't know what to replace him with and we still don't because the elected governmnet now isn't getting it done.

You're right about the British, as good of fighters as there ever were. Saddam was and is insignificant he's just all we have to show for our efforts, anyone who thinks hanging him will change anything is dreaming. now hang Bin Laden and then somebody might be impressed but then ofcoarse they retaliate and here we go again, it never ends.
