Here is the story.....
Tough hunting this year in Idaho. Saw lots of game, just not a lot of bucks. Lots of hunters this year for some reason, had the whitetails all spooked. On the last day it is pouring rain, my buddy convinces me to keep trying, so we hike into this steep canyon. We were trying to get to the next canyon over, away from the roads. I was doing my regular 10 steps and glass routine when I spotted the above buck across the canyon. We got ready quickly as the fog broke for a few minutes. Ranged him at 448......make proper adjustments on the dial.......make sure John has the right bar on his balllisticplex......ready?......boom!...boom!.......boom! Well after one well placed shot and two poor ones, the fog rolls in.....for about an hour! I saw him lay down so I knew he was hit. We hiked over and after a moderate tracking job we found him. It was a ridiculously steep and awkward place to bone him out. Made it out in the dark by headlamp light. 25 mile ride back to camp on the quads. Sure was fun....teamed up on a decent mulie on the last day. The whitetail was taken in the same area last year.
thanks to kilowatt for helping me post pictures since I am retarded.
