Saratoga Antelope & Deer

My son and I will be hunting area 50 in about 6 weeks. I received a landowner list from WDFG that shows (5) active landowners that allow access, has anyone out there hunted the TA Ranch or Peterson Livestock Ranch ?

Regards

Both are good places. Jim Blocker runs the hunting on the TA and he sets aside some ground for day hunters at a reasonable rate. But it is flat ground and the goats are pretty wild. Be prepared to do some crawling - lots of crawling.

There are also two G&F areas in 50. Pennock Mountain to the west and the Wick to the east. Both hold decent antelope, but they get chased and are also wild. So you'll have to be sneaky.

Best of luck.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-09-13 AT 02:37PM (MST)[p]Thanks for the reply. The info really helps as we're driving from California and are not familiar with the area. I was also able to purchase a Deer tag for area 79 so I'm hoping we can get into the Deer as well.

Regards

Sounds like you guys are a bit familure with the area. Would either of you have any info on the deer hunting in area 80 and 83?

Sorry, not much help. I have not hunted that country for more than 10 years. Standard advice. Get away from roads and look in places where most other hunters don't. Now that it is limited quota, deer hunting might improve in a few years - if G&F keeps quotas low.
