Scouting in July - Gillette/Buffalo

Wife and I are planning to be in the Buffalo area on the way through Wyoming the first week of July. Hoping to do some scouting for Antelope/Mule deer via quad and potentially horse back. Wondering what to expect for "critters, snakes/bugs" ....don't bother me but knats/flies/snakes will definately put a damper on the trip for my wife.

If the mosquitoes are anything like I had in mid Sept. last year they will be bad enough to drain an elephant dry ! I have been watching the rains and snows the last few weeks and between the moisture and temps starting to come up. Good luck . that is just a guess not eye witness in person though. I use a WY air quality camera in Campbell Co. just below Gillette to get looks and temps.
