This is fir section 702 only. How could any disagree with that section. Why don't you 2 show us your powerful intellect and explain to us mere chumps why it is or isn't so important.

It has zero to do with intellect. Did you Trust Obama to make rules that protected your privacy? I didn't, the adminstrative rules of who gets to use this information derived from Section 702 are up to each president as they see fit. Would you have trusted Hillary with your info? What about Bernie? Elizabeth Warren?

Section 702 allow for unlimited spying on U.S. citizens even if they are thought to have communicated with a foreign national. Is that a positive thing in your mind?

All Amash's Amendment would require is a warrant for information about Americans swept up incidentally the NSA program.

Quote:
Chief among them, the amendment would ban the practice whereby officials at the N.S.A., the F.B.I. and other security agencies, without a warrant, search for and read private messages of Americans that the government incidentally swept up under the 702 program. Instead, except in emergencies, officials would need to obtain a court order to query the repository for an American?s information.

With all the anti FBI rhetoric on here about how they handled Hillary's Server, The Russian Dossier, Mueller's Investigation, Comey's firing etc why do you trust them to have your information without a warrant?

How could anyone object to 702 ? I don't know I have no problem with it. but your dementia president can't seem to decide. republicans have been calling 702 an overreach but now that Obama is gone it's good again. or is it ? please explain.

?It's like a perfect storm,? he said ?There are enough Republicans who are Trumpites, and they see the intelligence community as the enemy.?

?They are trying to strategize how best to attack this issue,? Rizer said, noting that he had met with several Freedom Caucus members and said that one spoke of his deep dissatisfaction with existing surveillance powers granted to intelligence agencies under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Republicans hated section 702 of the FISA act of 2008 until they got a chance to extend it now Obama/Trump have every right to spy on Americans. Bunch of phonies.
