You have two days left to hunt and have seen one bigger buck than this one but only briefly? Do you hold out for the buck you think may be better or take this guy and call it a season?

Season would be over for me.

I would pass. To much of a risk with that big old rock on the back ground. You're sure to start a fire on a pass through. By the time you got to your buck the backstraps would be burnt to a crisp. J/K.

I would be letting the lead fly.

I think he's got a great looking face too. Love the Groucho Marx looking eye brows on him.
With those deep forks I'm guessing he's a 180" class buck and worthy of going up on MY wall. I'd shoot! fatrooster.

After going back and taking another look at him I decided that I would shoot him on the first day, first hour, first minute of the hunt. It looks like his right antler is a 5-point. I think I may have underestimated him. DEFINITELY A SHOOTER. fatrooster.

id guess that buck at over 170. there would be few tags id pass that buck on especially that late in the season. id shoot that buck during general season on opening mornin. only way i would not shoot is with a henrys tag or something similar

LAST EDITED ON Jul-06-12 AT 04:14PM (MST)[p]You never said HOW much bigger the other buck was. That guy is a shooter in my book, but if the other buck is over 200",it would be very tough to shoot this guy with 2 full days left!Decisions, decisions!Last time I passed a buck like that guy hoping for a bigger guy,I ended up with a smaller guy!!Very tough call.If the other buck was a giant,I'd probably pass this one. However,if the bigger buck was only 5"-10" bigger, for sure I'd whack that 30+ inch class buck!

Yeah, would be real tuff to pass that buck even on the first day of a good hunt!! Now days especially, that there is a Dandy!

Depends on how much bigger that other buck was, but more than likely this one would do as he's nothing to sneeze at. Bang

Here is a idea of what this buck would look like on the wall. This one was taken by a friend a couple years ago in Colorado and is 30 1/2 inches wide. He looks very similar to me.

Every hunting season you miss is one you can not make up

I'd drop him without question... Even if I had just glimpsed the bigger buck, and was heading after him... I'd drop this one.

A bird in the hand...
