prolly the dumbest questins you guys have ever heard but im a newb... whats it mean by fast shutter and slow shutter or shutter speeds?

it means the length of time the shutter is open allowing light to enter and expose the film or sensor. they range from minutes to 1/10,000 of a second and faster. For a regular camera, 1/500 is a relatively fast shutter speed. 1/1000 would be considerd fast. 1/30 is slow. They are in fractions of a second. . .

that's the million dollar question and one of the ways to get creative with photography.

fast will stop motion
slow will blur motion

You decide what's better. a little blur gives the shot the feel of motion. stop action is a bit static at times.

You are the only one that can answere that question.

However, somtimes you cant shoot fast because there's not enough light. . .
