Siuslaw Unit

Did ne one hunt this unit this year during bow or the coast rifle season. I havent been able to find any elk this year. My gf drew a W siuslaw cow tag. Could ne one help me out? The tag starts next weekend the 8th of Dec. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

What part of the unit are you wanting to hunt? I work in the Siuslaw unit and know where most of the herds are. I don't think many animals were harvested at all this year. Two guys I work with hunted first and second season rifle elk and both came up short. They are hiding somewhere......

Thanks Osulogger for your reply. Opening day was on the 8th. We were hunting the West part of the unit. My girlfriend got her first elk on opening day. It was a Huge cow. Not bad for her first year of hunting. Again thanks.

Is Fiddle Creek in that area by chance??? I'm not too familiar with the boundaries, but I'm guessing that is in the west end of the unit. Congrats anyway, always like to hear of animals harvested in my neck of the woods
