I just got out of a 5 day Yellowstone backcountry horse trip into Slough Creek. This was a couples trip with an outfitter, and we all had a GREAT trip, but the fishing was way off compared to last year when I backpacked in there on foot. I tried all the usual terrestrials, grasshoppers, beetles, ants etc. Last year I could catch 10-20 nice cutthroats per day but this trip I only caught 3 trout during the whole 5 days. Could the flood have washed the fish out of there? Opinions? I’m attaching a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Did the same trip about 25 years ago. We fished slough and hiked all the way out of the park and camped near silver gate i think? There was a freak windstorm and trees were blowing down all around our tent. I listened to them crack all night then slept in a meadow the next night! It is an awesome area, thanks for the pics.
