Snow report for Zirkel???

Does anybody have a snow report for Mount Zirkel area?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-11-10 AT 05:29PM (MST)[p]Colorado Snotel sites, run by the USDA, are the most accurate sites you can find on the web.

The 'Tower' location is just a few miles south of the Zirkle Wilderness boundary on top of Buffalo Pass and is the snowiest spot in Colorado. 25" of settled snow on the stake today.

I've never been to the 'Zirkel' site which shows 6" on the ground today. It is in the North Platte drainage and gets less precip than Tower.

I actually did check that sire before posting this. At the time I checked it was inconclusive and I really couldnt tell how much snow was on the ground.

We were up in unit 17 during third season. There wasn't as much snow as I expected, and we only had a few inches fall during the course of the week. I did hear the storm that just rolled in is supposed to dump 6-12", but you never know how much will really fall.

I talked to my Dad last night at 8:30PM. He lives between the base area and Steamboat town. They have 11" on the ground and it was snowing heavily. This is an altitude of 6900'
