First thing in this is how could anybody have a tax bill for the exact same amount 2 years in a row.

It is not beyond the realm of possibility that a wealthy person could configure their financials in a way that they legally pay no federal tax. It is done all the time.

It would take some very clever accounting to make a tax bill come out the same 2 years in a row.

The only reason the Times wanted Trump’s returns was to embarrass him, either by showing that he was rich (the hateful plutocrat) or poor (the lousy businessman). Having gotten the returns, the Times merely established that Trump was truthful about his audit, that Obama’s tax laws helped the wealthy, that Trump has intelligent accountants, and that the IRS made a stupid mistake and is trying to get its money back from Trump.

Think about making 400K a year for 8 years and no real expenses. Hiding it in tin can buried in the back yard you'd have a cool 3.2 million.

Even modest amount of financial smarts investing said funds is going to increase your wealth dramatically...

Take any consecutive 10 year period since WWII, and just investing in the stock market will gain you minimum of 5-7%. Compounding interest, maybe higher risk and better returns, yada yada....anyone with a firing brain cell will make serious money.

First, his current net worth is closer to 40 million. Since leaving office, pension alone is another 220K a year...

Home values have not decreased in this neighborhood is my guess.

He didn't come into office broke either.

Finally, there is no doubt that he's been making additional income since leaving office.

Like I said, anybody with even a basic understanding of investing, not hard to see how ones net worth can increase pretty quickly making 400K a year with no expenses.

I'd tell you my own story, but its pointless...but lets just say when I kick the bucket, my 2 nephews are both going to get 7 figure inheritances and we don't make anything close to 400K a year. I'm no Warren Buffet...but I do understand the basics...and that's enough.

Don’t blame Trump for taking advantage of our federal tax system, it is working the way is supposed to.

The system “is” on one hand designed to collect funds to run the government, but there is another set of rules that act as incentive for wealthy individuals to invest their money instead of setting on it.

That last set of rules is one of the things that has made the US dollar the world standard, and our country the economic super power that it is.

There is good reason why smart wealthy people some times pay little or no federal taxes, and most corporations pay none.

They are only doing what our tax code asks of them, and for the most part it works for the betterment of our society as a whole.

No socialist society has ever figured out a system that works so well.

The only flaw here is that he would have to pay about 40% in taxes on the 400k. Not sure what DC tax is (guessing 8 to 10%). Still a mess of money but probably taking home "only" 200k.

But he also had to pay for private schools so not totally expense free.

The Democrats have did everything they could over the last 30 plus years to equal the learning across the nation by dumbing down the standard of the education system so they did not have to raise the standard of education in the poor performing schools.
You do realize the school system of the United States dropped from 18 world ranking to 27 in ranking while Oboma was in office and sense Trump has been in office the US has not gained but at least we have stayed at 27.
But I suppose that it is Bush fault because everything that was bad during the Obama years was Bush years and everything good during the Trump years is because of the Obama years.

I guess I’ll vote for Trump because he is honest, trustworthy, has great moral character and he always puts America first. And he’s such good friends with Russia, N. Korea, China and others that we have nothing to worry about with those countries. But most importantly everything that he proposes is going to be tremendous; even though he doesn’t provide any details. He’ll probably push to approve the Pebble Mine in Alaska, already has reopened the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to mineral exploration Etc.

3. Comey & Brennan knew about Hillary's plan for election interference & to destroy Trump via the made up Hillary Russia hoax. They briefed Obama/Biden on Hillary's plan. What did they do? They all teamed up & partnered with Hillary to take Trump down, knowing it was all garbage & they defrauded the FISA court multiple times... and the American people

There's a debate tonight, I wonder if Trump might bring this up..... hmmm?

The Dems want power at all costs, no matter the bodies that pile up in their wake.

Well with that synopsis and our law & order president I assume we’re about to hear a symphony of clinking handcuffs.
 
I'm not voting for Trump to be a Sunday School teacher. I'm mostly voting for Trump for the judges he picks and because he sees through the climate change scam.
