LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-08 AT 06:59AM (MST)[p]Oldest son drew depredation hunt. It was nice because they told us where they wanted us to hunt and then the escort (a real nice guy) followed at about 4-5 hundred yards.
He got this really large cow by 7:30 in the morning. Some real good eating.

She is right over 38" on one side and very heavy horned for a cow.

Have 2 oryx mounts so she will be a real nice European mount.

You guys keep it up and you're gonna have to build on again just for all the trophies!! That is a very good looking oryx. Tell your son I am envious of his critter getting abilities.

I clicked my range finder one time at 265 yards, but, he hit him low so it may have been farthers. Normally I click range a few times to get it if I have time.
He was using a .270

QUESTION:

May sound stupid, but I have never hunted them, BUT how would you know the difference between the sexes, male or female??
Care to explain to this numskull? OH, and no wise cracks from the peanut gallery either.

Scouting Mcgregor today. Saw a few nice ones, but, nothing really huge. Youth hunt next weekend. Life is good.
