Any recommendations for locations and hunting technique for spring turkey hunting in the Jemez. Will be staying around 7 Springs Fish Hatchery. Have hunted 144 and walked up behind the fish hatchery but they seem to be a step ahead. Where else do people consistently see turkey year after year?

Been a couple years since I've chased birds in unit 6. Hunt elevations around 8000' with aread that have logging roads and you should do ok, if you can get to them. There will likely be some 2' snow across the roads in shady places this spring early on, but by late April/early May they should be open.
My issue is crappie are starting to bite about the same time...

Previous years some forest services gates aren't open on opening morning of turkey season with or with out snow on the roads. Good luck!
