Stiff Power Ring

The power adjustment ring on my swaro scope is becoming more and more difficult to turn. Aside from sending the thing in, is there anything a guy can put in the seam to facilitate turning? Preferably without damaging the scope I'd assume to do it myself if at all possible since I need it for spring black bear. Thanks!
