Supressors legal in NM??

I see that supressors have passed in Texas and Arizona. Are they legal for big game hunting here in New Mexico?

Yes and no. I have one for my 338 lapua and hunt with it in new mexico for elk but only on indian reservations. They aren't legal to hunt with but maybe one day they will be considered as legal as they are the best defense to save your hearing. not that our politicians care about that though.

I doubt it. Our G&F is mostly liberal. They think supressors are only for poaching. They don't realize they make most rifles more accurate and are a god send for hearing protection. I do however hunt coyotes with mine. If you look at them at night they have zero muzzle flash coming from the end. that makes them ideal for sniping yotes from the tops of oil tanks....... did i just say that publicly?
