The Phantom Ram

Many years ago I snapped this photo of a ram I named the Phantom Ram, after that old Gordon Eastman movie. The ram lived all by himself for years in Peachland BC. Very few people knew about him. I used to see him some mornings when the schoolbus would take us past his hidey hole. Then one year another ram and some ewes showed up. The Phantom got more brave and started showing himself to more people. He became so brazon that I once saw him bedded between a highway intersection. He ended up getting hit by a car but he survived. The last few years of his life he had a major limp. Many thought he would fall to a Poacher so he was fitted with a radio collar. He ended up falling to a cougar. I guess the limp slowed him down too much.
This is the only picture I ever took of him, in the days that he lived like a Phantom. I snuck up right on him and just as I raised the camera, he saw me and bolted. The image was blurred adding more to the Phantom image I had of him.
