I sometimes work with child protective services, you only read less than half of what happens. In my area we had a 34 year old women who pimped her 13 and 9 year old daughter out to at least 25 men, they have been caught. This is all over the news, smaller things just as horrible often don't make the news. Some people are sick and mentally ill.

I always read on this site how social services workers are overpaid. In Nebraska they start out at about $20,000 a year. Having to see some of the stuff they deal with I'm not sure that is enough.
