Deer poached, antlers removed in south-central Utah

In late January, two mature mule deer bucks were poached on the Fillmore-Oak Creek limited entry deer unit in south-central Utah. Whoever killed the deer hacked off their antlers and then tried to hide the animals under woodpiles.

I saw a thread on here earlier about guys that were down there looking at deer on the winter range. Maybe someone saw something?
That and the post on here about what went right attracted a lot of attention.
Now there are at least two less bucks for guys to go after that are jumping ship from other units to hunt there.
Poachers are thieves of the worst kind.

Elkslayer, where are you getting your information? The picture in the article shows a deer with the antlers sawed off, but the picture you posted looks like a full skull.

This is how we lose big bucks off of our LE units and Oak Creek was getting better.

Sounds like the guy admitted to poaching that elk so I would say he has Guaranteed himself a license revocation iIf he even had one to begin with. And he deserves everything else that comes with poaching a trophy animal.
