Hey Arizona deer hunters. I know it's early, but I am looking at putting in for Archery Deer in the 12A/12B area. The odds look pretty good and from what I hear, the area is good as well. Are there any tips you guys can give me on what to expect as far as terrain? Typical shot distances for archery? Quality of animals? Would it be wise for me to get assistance from an outfitter being a non-resident?

I don't mind coming down before the season for a scouting trip if necessary. Just looking for some basic guidance/input as I try to plan out next years applications. Thanks in advance.

the archery deer hunt in unit 12 is a good hunt for average Bucks at best.1 1/2-2 1/2 yr bucks are mostly harvested ... Terrain is easy as "ALL the deer are still on "TOP" of plateau.Access is easy as F.S. Rds. are plentifull.Get away from the traffic/quads and odds go up for a chance at a BETTER buck.Hunt the latter part off season if possible.Good Luck ... Bruce & SilverGrand
