Tree Stand Safety

Hey,

I just wanted to remind eveyone to take every safety measure you can. Two weeks ago my nephew was killed when he fell from his tree-stand in ID bear hunting. He had a very quality stand, plus saftey harness, however must have been so excited to start hunting he did not remove his harness from his pack.

Be careful out there.

Sorry to hear about your nephew. My God Bless your family.

I've had a good friend fall out last fall and he luckily only shattered his ankle.

Since then we have purchased the Fall-guy seat-belt safety device that retracts as you climb up and have purchased harness and with our treestands we have welded a surround bar to avoid falling out. It isn't perfect but it seems to keep you enclosed.
I haven't sat a stand without a cat nap or two... So plan on being prepared is a good thing.

My friend fell out as he was setting up his stand. That is a crucial time to be very careful too... We use a harness every step of the way, now... Don't think we are monkeys and can hold on... Things happen.

Be safe, God Bless.

Midnight
