Trespass fees

Looking at doing an archery deer hunt with my 14 year old son. Not partial to any area, but been researching somewhere in the NW corner. Don't care about trophy quality, just looking for high opportunity. I've been looking all over the web and all the trespass hunts I come accross range from $1000 - $2000. Are these really the going rates? I was hoping to find something in the $500 range. Any ideas on where to look.

Colorado is officially Texafied when it comes to private land.

In some area's, by license plates, you'll think your in Texas, other places feel like Utah or California LOL!

If you aren't worried about quality why hunt private land for a fee? Doesn't make sense to me, especially during archery season.

Like beanman said, for archery without being too worried about trophies, hunt public land. Get yourself a good BLM map for northwest Colo.and give yourself a little scouting time before you hunt. You'll see plenty of deer, but getting close in that open country will be a challenge.
