You guys have some great big game, but you also have the best PBR event. Who is going? I will watch it on TV, but going would be lots more fun. Aside from the Finals, it should be the best of the best bulls.

Nampa is very good. I just think this is the big one they all want to win? This one is endorsed by the pres.

Us farmers aren't dumb enough to get on a bull.

Take a kid hunting. You will enjoy it more than they do!

KTC, you did good on the spelling!

Take a kid hunting. You will enjoy it more than they do!

264,

I guess I am smart and a cowboy?

I can rope a little and never got on a bull. I used to think I was too chicken, but now I call it smart? My dad used to tie me on his roping cattle. I knew real fast that was not for me.

I just play PBR Fantasy, keep my face in one piece, and enjoy watching other people get bloody and broken?;-)

A couple of those guys are friends of mine and i've met several more. My dad & several family members used to ride bulls. I guess it would be fun if i were 18 again, but i don't heal as fast anymore. It sure is growing though. Good entertainment, and lots of buckle bunnies there.....lol.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-25-08 AT 03:56PM (MST)[p]Hope you guys know I was kidding. I enjoy the PBR very much and our family was able to attend this event last year.

Take a kid hunting. You will enjoy it more than they do!

I took Chad Denton to his very first rodeo in Ely NV. He won his first buckle there.Travis Briscoe's dad George and I used to rodeo together as well and have nodded my head at a few when both Travis and LJ were coming up. Chad got cut two weeks ago but should make his way back onto the Built Ford Tough tour by summer. I know Owen Washburn very well and he's bring some bulls up, Martin Baca will have a couple there , he has a half brother to Fender Bender and Casper Baca will also have a few juice hogs there. Yeah I'll go watch it.....It's a heck of a great experiance to watch these bull ridings live....

NUTT,

You should have taught Denton to quit screwing around and get out of the chute.;-)

I use LJ on my team from time to time, just not much of a Briscoe fan for some reason? He will never keep up with Marchi this year. No one will unless he gets hurt. He is pretty sticky this year.

You are right. The events live are a load of fun. Wish I was going.:-(

ktc, funny
, I wished I could take credit for teaching him anything, but he has a heart that is so big I can't explain it. When he was a freshman he could ride anything they would run under him. If it bucked hard he wanted him. He and Tony Mendes and another kid named Ray Hardy were unbelievable . Tony has kept on keeping on, he also got married to Mike Cervi's daughter I believe and raises bucking bulls and still competes and lives in Utah but I don't know what ever happened to Ray.We all knew Chad could ride but when he was 17 he rode one of Buddy Pinz nightmares for 90 points in Tacoma WA , a calf out of Red Dogg that was just about as salty as they get. I knew then he was special. He's living in Oroville now and loves to hunt and fish.He was going to Brawly last weekend I think. I haven't heard back . Travis Briscoe has changed alot. Once he made his first world finals he got a little big headed but he has pretty much come full circle. He is really involved in the Bible and since getting his head back on straight he has been riding better, he is just so injury prone. LJ is a riding MASS, he is flat out sticky and about as nice and respectable as a guy can get.Marchi should win the world as long as he stays healthy and thats the hard part.Theres just too many events left , Mike White,Chris Shivers, Mike Lee and pretty much all the Brazilians , if any of these guys draw the right bulls and Marchi stubbs a toe , any of these wolves will jump to the lead in the world....Just too many events left....

NUTT,

That judge in St Louis (I think?) was not happy with Denton. Sounds like taking to much time is a problem he has?

I really like Mike White. I would like to see him sneak in and win it, but he hangs on too long and gets hurt way to often.

I made my picks today. If I win Finals tickets, and I am out of town, maybe you could have them?;-) Actually, I would go to Vegas.

What did Briscoe do? I have heard them elude to the fact he got into some stuff that was probably not in his best interest?

I thought you NM guys would pick this thread up!

LJ Jenkins the hometown cowboy won the event. I was happy to see him win. Seems like a good guy. Texico New Mexico is where he is from. I like say that...Texico, New Mexico! Ha!

I just caught a little snippet on the news about Tingley having problems hosting the event. What was that all about?

Take a kid hunting. You will enjoy it more than they do!

Sounds like the PBA does not wanna come back to tingley because of ticket sales, lighting and support issues.

Albuquerque has been getting a bad rep lately......and justifiablly so. Lots of theives, crime, poor service, crapy laws, city government, cops, etc are driving people away. It's too bad.

I had cheap seats on the North end but it was great regardless of the glitches and Jenkins is the MAN. Too bad we have some damned thieves around here...and KTC, speaking of rank bulls, they should have thrown that toad Utah wapiti bull your wife smoked into the mix. Too bad she killed that poor helpless critter!

Could be a play to get the event to Santa Ana Star Center. Sandia Casino is the biggest sponsor so I don't know how that would go over , but the Santa Ana Star Center is an awesome building!2009 , Ty Murry goes to Rio.....Heard it here first....couple miles and I'm home...

LAST EDITED ON Apr-03-08 AT 11:19PM (MST)[p]yb,

I thought the PBR was happy with Tingley? I don't know, but at the top of the show, they talked (Ty Murray) about the history of the building and it being a great place for Bull Riding? Maybe that was just a feel good report? On TV the building appears very old so maybe it is not the best place? All I know is it is one of my favorite events all though I have to admit I like them all.

Jenkins stood out that is for sure. They were giving Marchi a hard time for not taking his re-ride in the short go. I don't blame him though. He was in second and he would have had to scored something like 94 to over come Jenkins as it turned out and he was guaranteed no less than second.

Nampa this week! Should be equally as good. I get to see my favorite bull in Nampa. Diamond G's White magic.

What happened to okiebugle? He was our resident pro? Seems he was part owner of Sports Machine? Whatever he was he was in tight with whoever owns him.

ropinfool,

Albuquerque gets a bad rap because it is featured on COPS regularly.;-)

Tingley is a dump! When they put more money in that barn they had felt that they were doing enough. They should have torn it down and rebuilt it. There is alot of rodeo history in that building , but over the years time has taken a toll on the old barn. The PBR is the best production of any rodeo event hands down, and they are just saying that their events are held in great buildings with quality accomidations and Tingley just isn't a nice place compared to the rest of their events....I hear Sandia Casino is also building a great building to host events....Santa Ana is up and ready right now....

LAST EDITED ON Apr-07-08 AT 09:41AM (MST)[p]I think it's funny to hear a bunch of bull riders complaining about riding in an indoor building. They can call it what they want, but it's still part of rodeo roots and Ty must have forgotten those days. I thought bull riders were supposed to be tough, what happended to riding in the mud and the weather? That "old barn" is still one of the nicest buildings that i rope in every year and i've been to quite a few. Fame has gone to their heads and they've forgotten where they came from. And if the fans can't hack it, maybe they should go back to the opera.

It wasn't Ty who complained about the arena. It was another spokesman who represents the PBR. The lights went out before the second perf and the maintnance couldn't get them back on and then when they tried to contact the Expo Personal none of the people they tried to contact could be reached.I'm sure none of those bullriders have forgotten where they came from nor are they worried about nodding thier head in an outdoor pen in mud snow or rain.Their bull riders with plenty of cowboy run through. The fact that the Built Ford Tough Tour is a mega million dollar tour of the PBR and that they want a usable full functioning building to work when they need it too isn't a bad thing , what is bad is that for a few years now they have had problems with Tingley and they simply stated that it may be time for a move to another building. I'm sure you have spun many a steer there, but put yourself in the PBRs' seat. Wouldn't you strive to produce the very best event you possibly could and in doing so you need the building to help complete your goal? Then when year after year of problems , you would sooner or later have to speak up . Thats the stand the PBR has taken and I don't see anything wrong with it...

LAST EDITED ON Apr-07-08 AT 05:19PM (MST)[p]Speaking of old arenas. I kind of miss the old Tuff Hedeman event in Fort Worth. I like the old buildings myself with the history. I can understand what NUTT is saying though. The PBR is all about the best show in the bright lights and television. I would bet the days at Thomas and Mack are short lived as well? Maybe I am wrong, but I bet within a few years the PRCA and PBR get something on the table for a new, large, state of the art areana in Vegas? Just a guess.

I was a little disappointed in Nampa last week. The day delay on TV kind of ruined it? I wish VS would step up and broadcast all days on the day the perform?

NUTT and ropinfool, you two need to sign up and play some PBR Fantasy. Ty's Team, Ken's Kids, and SaddleSore Inc. are kicking some ass? Well, sort of. www.pbrfantasy.com

Edit; http://www.pbrfantasy.com/LuckyBuckers.cfm

I think Short Gorham is kicking everyone's ass?

ktc, I agree , sure is kind of sad to see the seperation between Tuff and the PBR, He was one of the founding members who worked so hard to get the PBR off the ground, he also helped lay the foundation to the high dollar payouts to bullridings across the nation. He will always be one of the best the sport has ever seen...

They still have Tuff's event in Fort Worth, it's just part of the CBR now.

No doubt, he was one of the best.

rf,

Those CBR deals are pretty weak compared to the PBR. They do use some good bulls, but the cowboys are Busch League? Well, some of them are good, but they prefer to be big fish in a little pond.

Surely without Hedeman the PBR probably would not exist. I am not sure what I think of him, but he was pretty good and a colorful figure.

randy bernard is who handles most of the business in the PBR...Ty Murray is just the president..more like a spokesman for the PBR..but the show is run by business man like Randy, and they are all about the money..But so was Tuff and thats why he isn't with the PBR anymore..alot are clueless to what really happened...

I'm not , I know exactly why he isn't a part of the PBR. He was very wreckless with his money and his land, and Las Vegas is where he made so much and pretty much lost it all. That is a very bad deal but he was great none the less. His actions as to him leaving the PBR never cost anybody but himself.NMBULLFIGHTER, PM me , I'm curious as to how close our story is.

NM, funny how much we knew, I have talked to a bunch of guys who thought they knew but had no idea. I've heard some funny and crazy chit about the whole ordeal, just think many guys add thier own twist to act like they know something. You are the first guy I've talked to from over in this country that actually did know...Talk at you later...Larry

NUTT,

Would you send me a PM and tell me in a few sentences what happened? I read one article when trying to find out I thought may be accurate? Something to do with a confrontaion between him and the CEO, sponsors, and prize money during the Finals one year? If I remember correctly?

rf,

You are right. Let it all out for all of us NUTT? Was Tuff getting his feelings hurt because he was not "The Man" any more or more along the lines of my other post?

I think Ty Murray makes a better pres any way?

Come on guys. Please spill the beans.
