Unbroken

I read the book and then went and saw the movie this weekend. The first movie I've been to since Saving Private Ryan.

The movie was pretty good, especially the scenes with the B-24 footage. My uncle was a turret gunner on a B-24 in the Pacific Theater. He flew 33 missions and survived.

Worth seeing if you like that sort of thing.

It's written in the good Book that we'll never be asked to take more than we can. Sounds like a good plan, so bring it on!

I'm going to see the movie soon. One of my uncles was a tail gunner on a bomber and was shot down over the Romanian oil fields and spent the rest of the war in a POW camp.

I tried to go see it, but the projector was broken. Uh, well, so much for that!

Roy, you should have picked a projector that was "unbroken"

Just sayin'

Check that, I guess the movie I actually went to see was "Not Broken" - it was at the dollar theater. I guess I should have expected that.

I can't wait to see this one.

K1 tried to go see it yesterday. He read the book and was very excited to see the movie. His buddy set him up on a date with a girl even, but...poor kid...I think his date was drunk. She was very, very talkative (strike ONE)- during the movie (strike two!)- hanging all over him before they sat down (she probably had to hang on to stay standing and that was strike THREE so he was OUT at that point anyway) and then she puked. So he had to leave during the movie to take her home.

He was soooo unimpressed...LOL and kinda traumatized! Poor kid...worst blind date ever and he didn't get to see the movie. That's the last time he takes one of Bess's relatives out...;-) lol

LAST EDITED ON Dec-31-14 AT 06:54PM (MST)[p]Poor kid!!

Sooner or later it is gonna happen! The Basin is only so big of a fish pond! You can date all the girls you want, but sooner or later you are going to date a drunk one or your cousin! (You just hope they aren't both at once!)

Well - tell him not be be too "broken" up about it. You might even want to tell him to be "Unbroken".

Well - that was it - he got her home. And that was it. And he was glad to leave her there.
