Unit 10 Archery Bull Scouting

LAST EDITED ON Aug-06-09 AT 10:34PM (MST)[p]Anyone out there have a tag? My hunting partner drew and we started our scouting last weekend. We didnt see an elk, but thats ok. We are trying to cover little chunks of 10 up until the hunt. I have a pretty good idea where we will be on the opener. It was pretty warm last weekend. We found a ton of sign and even had a few cameras on waters. Got a cool pic of a lion coming into a tank and saw a smoker 4x4 buck about 31-32 wide. Just curious if anyone else has been poking around and how ya been doing.

Yep, I too have a tag for the early archery hunt. I will be up there this weekend and almost every weekend until the hunt. This will be my first trip but I have heard some great reports. It is hot and the elk are not active after the first hour of light. The bulls are starting to rub and lose the velvet. They will start moving soon. Cant wait to get up there. Leaving first thing tomorrow morning. Keep me posted on how the scouting goes and I will do the same. This is a banner year to have a tag in 10. we are lucky.

Judging by the pic your looking in the area around Williams. We have been scouting that area hard for the last month and have found a bunch of great bulls in that area! Keep looking and you will find the bull of your dreams I would guess. Good luck
